Senior Year

I had my last “first day” of high school August 9th. It was relieving to know I have successfully made it this far, but also a little nerve racking knowing the rest of my life is going to be in front of me in the blink of an eye. Knowing all the choices I am going to have to make about college, I am not necessarily looking forward to but I also can’t wait see what God has planned for my future.

Every year, a senior will tell you that high school goes by faster than you think and you never get how right they are until you are a senior. You get a strange feeling when you’re about to leave a place. You will miss the person you are now at this time and place. You will miss the people you love. You will never be the same again.

This being my last year of high school I want it to end how it started, GREAT! I don’t know that I will miss high school, but I will miss the memories and the friendships. One day you will have your last fire drill and be taking your last school test and getting  a last report card. One day you will close your locker and walk out of those doors for the last time. One day you will be standing in an alphabetical order line in a cap and gown with the people you watched grow up. A lot of those people you will never see or here from them again. One day you will forget about ALL the people you knew and you will barely remember the memories until you find a picture or note that makes you think of one. One day you will be packing up eighteen years of your life into boxes and hugging your parents goodbye. One day you won’t be in high school anymore.

It’s sad, but we are all ready to get it over with and leave so soon.
